Oklahoma lawmakers are moving closer to making the bell-to-bell cellphone ban in schools permanent.
The policy started as a pilot program this year. Many districts enacted their own bans before the state policy that went into effect this school year. Teachers and admins say it has been a game changer.
The bill has one more step before it could head to the Governor’s desk.

Newly released security footage shows the moment the Paul’s Valley High School principal stopped a school shooting.
The video shows the suspect, a former student, enter the school and firing, before Principal Kirk Moore rushed toward him and tackled him to the ground. Another administrator helped secure the weapon.
Moore was shot in the leg during the confrontation and is now home recovering.
The suspect remains in jail on a $1 million bond. KOTV - News On 6
