πŸ”₯ We're Hiring | Director of Public Policy & Advocacy | The Arc of Oklahoma

There are Oklahomans with intellectual and developmental disabilities who need a champion at the Capitol. Someone who speaks truth to power, doesn't back down, and turns advocacy into real change.

That person might be you.

Who We Are: The Arc of Oklahoma has spent 75 years fighting for the human rights of people with IDD. We connect families, influence policy, and build communities where everyone belongs. We're part of a national network of 600+ chapters β€” and we are not slowing down.

The Culture: We work with urgency. We lead with integrity. We show up for people who too often get left behind.

πŸ›‘ Stop scrolling. Only keep reading if this feels like YOUR fight.

The Role: Director of Public Policy & Advocacy πŸ“ Oklahoma City Metro | Full-Time | Reports to CEO

You'll lead our entire public policy engine β€” tracking legislation, mobilizing grassroots advocates, coaching self-advocates, and sitting at the table where decisions get made.

Six things you'll LOVE doing in this role: βœ… Testifying and strategizing at the Oklahoma State Capitol βœ… Turning complex policy into clear calls to action βœ… Training and empowering self-advocates to lead βœ… Building relationships across political aisles without losing your values βœ… Coordinating statewide advocacy campaigns that move the needle βœ… Writing policy that changes real people's real lives

You Are: β†’ Mission-driven and politically sharp β†’ A skilled communicator who owns every room β†’ Unshakeable under pressure and opposition β†’ Connected to disability justice β€” personally or professionally β†’ Ready to lead, not just manage

Requirements: Bachelor's degree + 2 years in public policy/advocacy. Must be in OKC metro within 60 days.
