Football is more then just a score, a position, “breaking someone’s ankles”, a championship.

Football is a community where coaches can lead our youth through wins and losses, not just on the field, but life. To teach that we all are one with each other and need each other.

Football is a community of coaches, parents, and players with complete different backgrounds that come together with common goals where we can become a family if we separate all differences, who plays where, how much did we when or lose by or whatever. We are all one if we choose to be.

This photo below is an absolute reminder of why I love to coach. We learned yesterday that one my parents/player lost a close loved one. We came together to give a moment of silence for their lost loved one. Each player eliminated any difference there might have been for the betterment for their teammate who is learning how to feel and deal with grief.

So many lessons learned that I wanted to share. 28 players, 6 coaches all coming together at one time to share a piece of that time of life together that is bigger then any one play.

I really love all of these coaches, parents and players. We are more then just Bixby Blue. We yesterday for a brief moment in time showed that we are Spartans. ❤️
