Small changes can make a giant difference!

Here, we used Sherwin William Dover White walls and Pure White trim, along with a nice laminate floor for warmth. I hated painting the beams, but they made the ceiling feel low and depressing.

Light is your friend! One of the first things I recommend is replacing dark curtains with white or removing them altogether. Another neat trick is to hang the rod near the ceiling, wider than the window so the drapes barely cover the edges.
