Axolotls Tulsa

If you’ve purchased from us recently, you’ve heard me tell you that the plastic plants are their playground.  Here is a picture of one of the little guys showing you.

Did you know axolotls have gill slits on the side of their heads? There are occasions when the axolotl loses the fight with a worm. When that happens the worm will try to exit through a gill. It's distressing to see, for sure. If this happens you can use tongs and very gently pull the worm the rest of the way out of the gill. If the axolotl fights you, then leave it be to work out on its own. Don't Force it. Once the worm is out, let the axolotl rest and recover before feeding again. When its time to try again break the worm in half.
