Every bridge has a purpose. Ours are built to last. WWS crews recently completed installation of this 8-foot-wide by 45-foot-long pedestrian bridge in Hood River, OR. A side-girder style was selected for this location due to the low profile needed to cross a shallow, sensitive area. The bridge connects two areas of new residential communities. Surrounded by mature trees, the all-mass timber bridge blends naturally into the landscape while providing a durable, low-maintenance crossing for years to come.

Perched above Idaho Springs, Colorado, the Argo Landing boardwalk trestle lookout pairs mountain views with precise timber craftsmanship. Built entirely from Alaskan Yellow Cedar, this 7-span structure gives visitors a front-row seat to the surrounding landscape.
WWS provided design, supply, fabrication, and delivery for the 70-foot-long, 30-foot-tall structure, creating a timber centerpiece that feels right at home in the Colorado mountains.

The Medford School District is one of many school districts across the state whose long-span wood structures are periodically evaluated by engineers to ensure they meet current building codes. We just repaired and upgraded this gymnasium, built in 1985, at Oakdale Middle School in Medford, Oregon. Alongside S & B James (GC), we executed the design, supply, and installation of upgrades necessary to bring this roof structure up to current code for snow-loading events.

This Argo Landing boardwalk trestle lookout in Idaho Springs, Colorado, is a welcome break from the construction grind... and the views make it even better. Built entirely from Alaskan Yellow Cedar, including its striking cantilevered end, this structure blends craftsmanship with natural beauty. At 70 feet long and 30 feet tall, it may be modest in size, but it stands out as a true centerpiece built for visitors to enjoy for generations.

Western Wood Structures recently completed the design, supply, delivery, and installation of a new glulam girder pedestrian bridge in McMinnville, Oregon, located in the heart of Oregon's Willamette Valley.

Residential developer Sekisui House USA / Holt Homes approached Western Wood Structures, seeking a natural, aesthetically pleasing crossing to connect two parcels within the community while providing safe pedestrian access. Our team delivered a complete turnkey solution, including engineering, fabrication, delivery, and installation.

Constructed entirely of mass timber, the bridge blends seamlessly into its forested surroundings. Nestled among mature deciduous and evergreen trees, the structure complements the natural landscape while providing a durable, low-maintenance crossing for residents and visitors alike.

The warm appearance of the exposed glulam timber creates an inviting connection between the two areas of the development and demonstrates how modern timber infrastructure can enhance both functionality and aesthetics. By utilizing renewable wood products and a design that respects the existing environment, the bridge adds lasting value to the community while preserving the character of the site.
