Why is it NOT a good idea to drop off your mail ballots at your polling place on Election Day?

ANSWER: Because it is then considered a "Provisional Ballot" and is processed last, after the election. They are all counted, but it may not "count" because it is after election night – as, all signatures on the envelopes have to be confirmed to be legitimate. Early Ballots are tallied first, Poll Ballots second and Provisional Ballots LAST.

That’s why it’s so important to mail in your early ballots – to be sure they are counted as intended and accordingly.
