Arizona Conservation Corps

Although Megan is only a few weeks into her IP term, she has already been putting in the work! Alongside her team at the U.S. Forest Service, she helped prepare a meadow affected by the Dragon Bravo Fire just north of the Grand Canyon.

Megan mentioned, “We found some head cuts where the channels in the meadow were incised. We marked places that could be restored with rock structures to slow down the water and allow the water to seep into the meadow rather than cutting through it.” Megan assisted a volunteer group as they built about ten rock structures over a one-mile span of the meadow!

We’d like to give a huge thank you to the hard work Megan has been putting in and we are very excited to see what she will accomplish throughout her term!
