Our Desert Tortoise has stirred my creativity as an ongoing project.
Pictured is an express tunnel from burrow to food that also has shade provisions. The burrow is a covered 32x28x14 " hole in the ground with 14 Inches of sand on top to provide natural cooling inside. She loves the great "Indoors" and when allowed she inevitably ends up in the front hall closet soooo...for the winter she will hibernate in the Hiber-Box I just constructed which we'll keep ... in the Closet,
This box is equipped with air holes, carrying handles and pressure fitted door. They are stackable so if you know of any cardboard- box dwelling Tortoises that may want an upgrade,well... They are made to order and all I need to know is how big to make it.
