Every desert adapted and native plant we grow for our community starts somewhere. It starts with a seed, a little patience, and people who care enough to help it grow. Every seed we sow is an investment in a healthier, greener Tucson and a way to support the Sonoran Desert we call home. ✨🪴🍃
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing volunteers and interns for a hands on morning of seed starting and up potting. Together, we’re nurturing the next generation of trees and plants that will one day shade our streets, provide food and shelter for wildlife and pollinators, improve air quality, reduce stormwater runoff, and help make Tucson an even healthier, more beautiful place to call home. 🌱🌵💚

Today we celebrate Arbor Day! 🌳A vital role trees play in our community, and a reminder of why expanding tree canopy in Tucson matters so much!
In a desert city like ours, trees are more than landscape, they are life. They provide critical shade in extreme heat, help lower energy use, improve air quality, support local wildlife, and make our neighborhoods healthier and more livable. Strengthening tree canopy in low-canopy neighborhoods is one of the most impactful ways we can build a more resilient Tucson for everyone.
Today’s post is also a moment of gratitude. A look back at the many volunteers, partners, and community members who have shown up over the years planting, watering, learning, and caring for the trees that will shape our city’s future. ✨🤗🌳
