This was a big deal for me. I’d never gone to a concert for a big musician by myself, and it was only appropriate that my first one would be Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band. It’s always been a bucket list item of mine to see at least one surviving member of The Beatles, my favorite band, in person. I have done that. It was an amazing show. There were songs that I knew he would play, and there were songs that I was surprised to hear. If you ever get a chance to see him, I encourage you to do so. And he’s amazingly spry for a man who’s about to turn 86 this year.

Just helped Mom set up her Mother’s Day gift: an Audio Technica record player. So far, we’re still working through the kinks in the BlueTooth speaker, but it sounds amazing.

As a kid, I chipped my tooth on a bathroom counter. It was tiny, barely noticeable. But overtime, the tooth chipped away little by little to the point where the edge became transparent. Then one night, I chipped it further on the edge of a bowl. Normally, I would avoid getting it filled, but since I’ve decided that this year I’m going to be kinder to myself, I asked the dentist to fill it in. It feels weird, but I’m happier with the way my smile looks now. Thanks, Wilmot Family Dentistry.

In honor of I want to shine a spotlight one an important figure in film history.
The Forgotten Woman Who Designed The Creature From The Black Lagoon A new book by Mallory O'Meara explores the life of artist Milicent Patrick, who worked on Fantasia and costumed a legendary Hollywood monster — and then ran afoul of misogyny in the workplace.

I’ve spoken to a few people in my personal life about this, so they know what happened. Someday I will write about it all after I’ve had time to process and heal, but not at the moment. Just understand that I don’t wish Kat any ill will or harm. And those who do know, please respect her privacy and boundaries. The last thing I want is for her to be harassed.
To all the people who say "if you're born with a womb, you're a woman," how do you explain Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome?

35. It’s hard to believe that I’m 35 now. So much has happened this year, and I’m so happy for it.
