This conference STILL has a profound effect on me. The pre-planning and focus groups, the speakers were absolutely amazing and experts in their own fields/dedicated writing + work; it was the teen panel ~ young people ~ who had been given a terminal disease diagnosis that taught us so much. . . the one teen who said to her parents, "Wait! Let me look at my bedroom one more time" as they were wheeling her to the car to go back to the hospital ... and, she knew she was not coming home ever again. . .
Our culture prepares for the new baby coming home; perhaps we can prepare and ready ourselves better for the winter stage of life. More education on all the "Seasons of Hope".

Case Management:
The process revolves around assessing client needs, planning services, facilitating access (linkage), monitoring, and acting as an advocate.
I like 'laying all the cards on the table ..." complicated family discussions + dynamics... adult children realizing the magnitude of their parents health conditions + urgent needs to do something NOW
A moment: ... 3 x 5 cards are used to write out - your needs / their needs - everyone SEES the hopes and dreams + budget of the care plan.
Respectful discussions, difficult realities.

Wednesday 09/25 the night before flying out to Germany I attended the Women's Empowerment Event invited by Sarah Eschenbrenner and Kim Garcia. OF COURSE I would make time for this inspirational evening with successful women leaders sharing their stories, tips and esp. their wisdom. Most of all was, the HUGE opportunity to share Sarah and Kim with the young woman I brought to this event ... their WISDOM for us meant the most! I have such a grateful heart ~ I'm thankful for their friendship and support. We are already looking forward to NEXT year's event - we will fill a table this time!

Traditions: Don’t you love a good cheese and meat board! My kids have perfected the Charcuterie experience so this thanksgiving I sent this one to Henry and Grace - my grandkids ❣️passing on the tradition starts with your own board.
