About Golden Boots and Thee Verduns:
In Spring 2025, French cartoonist, author, & musician Nicolas Moog and author and musician Jeanne Rivière (a.k.a. Thee Verduns) traveled to Tucson, Arizona from Metz, France to collaboratively write and record an album with Tucson musicians Dimitri Manos, Ryen Eggleston, (a.k.a. Golden Boots), and Jake Sullivan (co-owner of local record shop Wooden Tooth Records). The friends spent a few days writing at the Golden Boots practice space and then went to Waterworks Recording Studio where Jim Waters recorded and mixed the album in three days. The album “Carbon Footprint/Empreinte Carbone” was released on March 1st, 2026 on vinyl LP by KIZMIAZ Records out of Nantes, France. Golden Boots traveled to France to tour the album in April and will perform in Arizona for the record release at Che’s Lounge on May 30th. The album is 8 tracks that combine the neo-blues and garage-folk styles of Thee Verduns with the off-kilter pop sensibilities of Golden Boots…it’s kind of a playful garage-folk throwdown. The Golden Boots have been making music out of the Dunbar Springs neighborhood in downtown Tucson for almost 25 years.
