Process art looks like a mess because it IS a little bit of a mess.
And that mess is the learning process.

Mixing, layering, testing, starting over, making something no one told them to make. That's creative confidence being built in real time. And it looks nothing like the butterfly everyone cut out the same way.

Save this for the next time someone asks you to explain why there's no sample on the board. You'll have the words.

And if you want to go deeper on this with your team, the link in bio has you covered.

Just got back from the Natural Start Conference and my brain is full.

Full of ideas, full of feelings, full of a lot of thoughts about what it means to actually protect childhood instead of just talking about it. I went to site tours and watched programs doing things teachers tell me are "not allowed." I sat in a room full of people who love this work as much as I do and remembered why I started.

I also discovered that I am a desert person through and through. Humidity is not for me.

The big stuff is in the slides. But I want to know what's on your mind too.

What would YOU want to know about a conference like this? Or what's a place or community that's reinvigorated YOU lately? Drop it below. 👇

Before you fully close the book on this school year, sit with these four questions.

What were the best moments? Not the lessons that went perfectly or the bulletin board that turned out great. The REAL moments. The ones where you looked around and thought, "This is why I do this."

Can you do more of that next year? Seriously. What would it take?

What were the hardest moments? The days that drained you. The situations that made you question everything. The weeks that felt like they'd never end.

And what, if anything, can actually change?

Not every hard thing is fixable. But some of it is. A different setup. A different routine. A different way of saying yes before you say no.

The teachers who grow aren't the ones who do everything perfectly. They're the ones who keep asking better questions.

This is yours for the summer. 🌿
