A service dog is a dog that has been trained to perform tasks for individuals with disabilities or other special needs. Service dogs can provide help for people who are blind or hard of hearing, as well as those who have balance issues, mobility issues caused by injuries or illness, or mental health conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They help with tasks like opening doors and picking up items that their owners drop. This type of assistance makes it possible for their handlers to live independently and participate more fully in public lifeโ€”all without having to rely on another person's assistance or accommodation every time they need something from outside their home.

How do you know if you are being around a service dog? You can often recognize a service dog by their vest or harness, which will have an identification tag. ๐Ÿ•โ€๐Ÿฆบ

Service dogs should always be treated with respect, even if you aren't familiar with the dog or its owner. Here are a few things to remember when interacting with a working service dog. ๐Ÿ“Œ
