Dr. Misty McGillem is a Doctor of Nursing Practice and has a national board certification (ANCC) as a child and adult psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. After several years of inpatient and outpatient experience as a psychiatric mental health nurse, she returned to school and obtained her doctorate at the University of Arizona in 2016 after completing her internship at several local community mental health clinics in Tucson, AZ. She has extensive experience in treating across a variety of clinical environments and employs evidenced-based treatments in both psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. Having her Suboxone waiver also allows Dr. McGillem to specialize in helping individuals age 16 and up struggling with co-occurring substance use and psychiatric symptoms
