Families can receive more money through the child tax credit: Here's what you need to know 01/24/2022

Tax season is coming up! Make sure you received your full 2021 child tax credit when you file your taxes by following these simple steps:
1. If you received the child tax credit this year, you should be receiving a Letter 6419 from the IRS. If you're married, both spouses may receive a letter. These letters show how much of the Child Tax Credit you've received for 2021.
2. When completing your tax return, use those letters to complete a Schedule 8812 (and Form 1040) to receive any of the Child Tax Credit that you didn't already receive.
3. If you didn't receive the Child Tax Credit at all during 2021 but you're eligible, you can still receive that money when you file your 2021 tax return!
