FostAdopt Connection’s 4th Annual Holiday Ball for Foster Youth was a great success!! Due to so many group homes closing last year, we opened up the event to foster teens in kinship, foster and group homes. We had 150 youth, caregivers and volunteers at the event who got to enjoy delicious food, receive Christmas gifts, play games, meet Santa, watch a performance and win some awesome raffle prizes!!
We had many unlicensed kinship families attend the Holiday Ball and here are some of the things we heard:
“Our grandson wanted a bike and needed new shoes and we weren’t going to be able to get either one for him. He won a new fancy bike and Nike shoes! You made his Christmas!”
“Our granddaughter had a great time. This is the first place she was able to be herself and not have anyone judge her.”
“This definitely was one of the best nights of our year, an event unlike any other!”
“She doesn’t know what was better, the dancing or the wonderful Christmas gifts!”
“There was no way we were going to be able to get them a bike this year, so this was such a blessing!”
This event could not have happened without the support of amazing organizations, businesses, individuals and volunteers - who have continued to support this event since inception!

FostAdopt Connections was at Aviva Children’s Services 24th annual sewathon today! Volunteers sewed bags for foster children so they don’t have to use trash bags when they have to move.
It was a great turnout! It was so inspiring to see so many show up to do their part to support foster children!
Keep up the great work Aviva!!
