Meet Week 1 Artist Matt Beard

In his “A Bee Sees” series, Polygeneric Photographer and Storyteller Matt Beard, pulls his viewers into the rich and colorful (as well as dark and mysterious) worlds he discovers hidden in ordinary plants and flowers which he finds by random chance. Inspired by the story of an alternate reality within a dying rose in the Dark Tower series by Stephen King, Matt Beard “picks up his camera, and takes a walk to see what he can find”. The results of the artist’s efforts bring us a ‘bee’s-eye’ view, focused on appreciating these beautiful and mesmerizing microcosms of alternate landscapes. Mr. Beard’s work reminds us to consider our own existence in perspective to the greater (and smaller) universe we exist in.
