How fitting… the brakes failed just as we started our decent down “Devil’s Staircase.” It was a stark reminder of the importance of redundancy. Fortunately, I had adjusted the emergency brake the weekend before. Without it, our landing could have been disastrous. For anything important, it’s always worth having a backup plan because one of the beautiful things about life is that almost nothing goes perfectly.

🔨✨ Spending quality time with my pops laying a new roof on one of our commercial properties! This is what vacation looks like for a business owner. As a CPA, I took a break from the office to dive into some hands-on work.

Behind every glamorous moment in business, there are countless hours of hard work and grit. While delegating is essential for growth, there are times when you need to get your hands dirty and tackle the challenges head-on.
Sure, this job isn’t the most fun, but when I reflect on it, I cherish these moments the most.

It takes me back to my first roof installation with my dad almost 12 years ago. I still remember that 2 AM panic when a storm hit mid-job. We rushed to the store for plastic to protect our work. These tough moments are what create lasting memories.

This experience not only strengthens my bond with my dad but also deepens my understanding of my real estate clients as a CPA. Plus, saving $30K while doing a quality job? That's a win-win!
