🌟Celebrating the P-TECH ECHS Class of 2026🎓
Huge congratulations to the 27 seniors who celebrated their graduation from the Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH ECHS) program at HVCC North this past Friday! It was an incredible day highlighting the hard work, innovation and bright futures of these students.
We are so proud that more than half of the graduating class is continuing their academic journey right here at Hudson Valley Community College this fall. They are perusing exciting fields such as engineering science, cybersecurity, entrepreneurship, surgical technology and clean energy management.
The event also featured an impressive expo, where more than 30 P-TECH juniors showcased their capstone projects. These students are already tackling real-world challenges with brilliant solutions, including nanoparticle filters designed to clean our waterways, racehorse recovery trackers and AI scanning devices built to identify running injuries.
The future looks bright for these innovators and leaders! đź’ˇ

Last week, Hudson Valley Community College hosted the inaugural Capital Region Community College AI Symposium. The five Capital Region community colleges—SUNY Adirondack, Columbia‑Greene, Fulton‑Montgomery, Hudson Valley and SUNY Schenectady came together with faculty, administrators, instructional designers and K‑12 partners to explore the rapidly evolving role of artificial intelligence in education.
The event focused on the responsible and practical use of artificial intelligence in teaching, learning and workforce preparation. It provided participants with an opportunity to examine emerging technologies, engage in thoughtful discussions and explore the opportunities and challenges presented by one of the most transformative developments in education in a generation.
“We were delighted to host the Capital Region Community College AI Symposium,” said Tyler Kessel, dean of Business and Liberal Arts and chair of the college’s AI Council. “Community colleges have always been at the forefront of adapting to change in ways that directly benefit students and the communities we serve. This event reflected our commitment to ensuring that we lead with both innovation and intention.”
Thank you to everyone who participated and to all who worked behind the scenes to make the symposium possible!
