Big congratulations to Mrs. Kim Mueller! 🎉

She has officially been named the 212th recipient of the Vergil Parks McKinley Employee Award.

This quarterly honor recognizes outstanding professional and administrative support staff who go above and beyond for the university. The award was established in 1997 to honor the legacy of Dr. Vergil Parks McKinley, a pioneer of our athletic program.

Mrs. Mueller was presented with an engraved clock and a $1,000 check to mark the occasion.

Thank you for all that you do! ❤️⚔️

On 21 November, Army and Air Force Cadets were given the amazing opportunity to fly with as they rehearsed their flyover for Troy Footballs Military Appreciation game Saturday!

Everyone involved had a blast as they learned from great Army Aviators about the Apache, Blackhawk, and Chinook! Cadets were given the chance to check out each helicopter and later split into groups as they conducted the flyover!

We are very grateful for this opportunity and experience as our future leaders very much enjoyed their time in the sky!

On 21 November, Army and Air Force cadets competed in the Turkey Bowl football game. Army came away with a 16-14 victory! The Turkey Bowl Trophy was awarded to Army and will stay with us until next year’s matchup.

Today was also the last day of Morning PT for Army as we come to the end of the semester! We are extremely proud of the effort all the cadets have given these past few months. A large majority of cadets had large increases in their PT scores which shows just how hard they worked!

On 18 November, Army and Air Force cadets and cadre gathered for the first annual Friendsgiving. Everyone enjoyed great food, amazing company, and the chance to celebrate everything they are thankful for.

We would like to give a special thanks to those who took the time to plan and prepare the event—this would not have been possible without their hard work and support.

Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃

On 14 and 15 November 2025, cadets from the Mustang Battalion, which consists of AUM, ASU, and Troy, had their last field training exercise of the semester.

On 14 November, cadets went to Fort Rucker to do EST and Call for Fire. Then cadets came back to AUM to set up a patrol base and bed down for the night. On 15 November, cadets conducted warrior tasks consisting of the claymore, grenades, CBRN, M249, radios, M4, and the M240. Afterwards, cadets had a class on patrol base operations.

It was a great lab and cadets were able to get lots of hands on experience.

MUSTANGS, mount up!!

Our Cadets had the distinct honor of presenting the National Colors at the
2025 Alabama Veterans State Ball, standing alongside veterans who served our nation with distinction.

The highlight of the night? Our Cadets met with Brigadier General Izzo, and he took time to recognize the dedication of our Color Guard. BG Izzo presented a personalized challenge coin to our Cadet in Charge of Color Guard, Cadet Tessalone, recognizing her outstanding leadership and the team’s exceptional performance!

This is what leadership development looks like. We are proud of Cadet Tessalone and all our Cadets for representing Troy University and the Army ROTC program with excellence.

Go Trojans! Go Mustangs!
