Hockey Mentors for Special Players has been awarded $500 from our Spring 2026 grant cycle! And just ahead of their biggest event of the year! On Saturday, July 11, head to Buffalo Wild Wings Arena in Troy.

Participants will be paired with trained volunteers and can skate using adaptive equipment, including sleds, seals, walkers, and other supports. No skating experience is necessary.

Individuals with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, amputations, visual impairments, developmental disabilities, mobility challenges, and many other diagnoses are welcome. Family members are encouraged to attend and enjoy the day as well.

Scholarships were awarded to four Troy-area students during the Rotary Club Of Troy Michigan, luncheon on June 17.

The Troy Community Foundation’s Board Chair, Karen Greenwood, attended to congratulate Abigail Sollars, Haley Rossi, Miriam Krueger and Joey Clark, who received the 2026 Satterfield First Responder Scholarships through an endowment established by Sterling Heights Chief of Police Andy Satterfield and hosted by the Troy Community Foundation for Troy residents.

The Satterfield Scholarship Endowment supports Troy residents pursuing higher education and academy certifications in public safety, and provides financial opportunities for Troy programs that develop interest in public safety, such as police and fire youth explorer programs, as well as educational scholarships for children of first responders serving the Troy community. Contributions to this fund can be made on the Troy Community Foundation website.

🏁 Start your engines! No wait...start pedaling! The first Pedal Car Race for kids this summer takes place at Jeanne Stine Park (241 Town Center Drive, Troy, MI) during Troy Recreation’s Troy Midsummer Bash event on Saturday July 11!

Racers must check in by 1pm, line up to race by 1:45pm, races begin at 2pm. Come early to check in, enjoy the Midsummer Bash event with Troy Fire Department’s Touch-A-Truck, then get ready to race! Participants in this race will all receive a medal and a sweet treat. The 1st-Place winner of this race will also receive a trophy.
