NJ Assembly GOP
How far should product regulations go?
During debate on A5048, Assemblyman Brian Rumpf argued the bill banning certain products containing intentionally added PFAS goes further than many people realize.
Recalling committee testimony, Rumpf noted he asked whether the suit he was wearing would be prohibited under the legislation.
"The answer to that was yes."
Rumpf argued the bill would impose another regulatory burden on New Jersey businesses that are already struggling to comply with an increasing number of state mandates.

Fifty years later... are we still having the same property tax debate?
During Assembly debate on the FY2027 state budget, Assemblyman Greg Myhre argued New Jersey's approach to property tax relief hasn't solved the underlying problem.
He said programs like ANCHOR and Stay NJ return some money to taxpayers, but they don't address why property taxes remain among the highest in the nation.
"Here we are 50 years later having the exact same conversation."
Myhre argued the real solution isn't creating more rebate programs, it's making New Jersey more affordable in the first place so residents can keep more of what they earn.
