One year ago this weekend I hosted a dinner party for my hubby’s 50th. Inspired by a long-ago visit to dear family friends in San Sebastián, the featured drink that night was a build-your-own Gin Tonic bar. In the days leading up to the dinner (which I catered myself with the help of friends who brought dishes to pass) my list of errands and stops to find allllllll the things was ridiculous. Just ask . Among my favorite chores? Buying allllllll the edible flowers from . We were hosting far more peeps that night than our little hobby garden could possibly handle. I loved that as the party raged on, no matter what was in one’s goblet, there was a small planter box flowing from it. Definitely made for some of the funnier photos of the evening. You don’t have to be turning 50 to make this super simple but exceedingly beautiful drink. Recipe and story in the June issue of Traverse Magazine. 📷:
