It’s weekend! And the unofficial start to summer! ☀️🙌🏻

In honor of this beloved race weekend, I’m sharing a special essay, a letter to Emma, that I wrote awhile back (how is 10 years already?!), the day before she ran her very first half marathon here in Traverse City.

Plus, I share what followed this major accomplishment for Emma, running-wise. Hint: the podcast episode link I share at the end of this essay will fill you in on a very big race she finished just a couple of years later.

Happy Bayshore weekend to those who celebrate! If you’re running one of the distances, I wish you all the best and I hope the run is all that you hope for and need it to be!
