Heart Wired

Not everything is about you.
That’s not a dismissal.
It’s a doorway.
When our pain stays unnamed,
it begins to speak for us.
It distorts our lens, hijacks our reactions,
and convinces us that the world is constantly attacking us.
A pause becomes rejection.
A difference becomes danger.
A neutral moment becomes a personal insult.
Then suddenly, life becomes one long defensive stance.
But it wasn’t always like this.
This lens.....the one that filters the world through suspicion, fear, or shame, wasn’t born overnight.
It started early.
In the places where your needs went unmet.
In the moments your voice was too big, too much, or not welcomed at all.
In the silence that followed your tears.
In the reactions you internalized, the protection you built.
This is the framework so many of us carry.
A nervous system shaped by survival.
A body that learned to be on guard.
A heart that learned to expect harm.
Here’s the truth:
When that is your internal landscape....
You will see danger where there is only difference.
You will feel offense where there was only observation.
You will demand others soften the world
because you haven’t yet felt safe softening within.
So what does it take to shift this?
It starts small.
It starts with noticing the pattern.
With catching the surge in your body before the story in your head runs wild.
It starts with asking:
Is this mine?
Is this familiar?
Is this true?
It starts by realizing that not every feeling is a fact,
and not every reaction is a revelation.
Sometimes it’s just an echo from the past
asking you to come closer and listen this time.
This is the work I do.
This is the path I’ve walked.
And it’s why I created Regulated & Rooted.
Not as a map of what to do,
but as a sacred path of invitations.
Because who am I to tell you what your healing should look like?
Only you know the truth of your thoughts.
Only you know the patterns that keep circling back.
Only you know the aches that wake you in the quiet hours.
So I won’t hand you a checklist.
I will offer you mirrors.
Reflections.
Soft questions.
Steady reminders.
An unshakable belief in your capacity to return to yourself.
Because you’re not broken.
You’re layered.
You’re patterned.
You’re wired by life and ready to remember how to come home to your body again.
And the world?
The world doesn’t need more defensiveness masked as justice.
It needs more humans willing to pause.
To feel.
To tend to what’s theirs.
And in doing so, to gently shift everything around them.
You deserve to feel steady inside.
Let’s begin there.
