I realize that many people are stressed right now. There are local options that may help us through these times. My friends in Idlwylde were talking about affording coffee and flowers now there is a tariff. There are a couple of options that I know of and can recommend for locals in the Baltimore area. For followers in other areas I suggest you check out your local CSAs and any florist focusing on local flowers. Here are my local recommendations for the Baltimore area:
One Straw Farm's CSA's - They offer vegetables, pork, and flower csas. Here is something to consider - purchasing now locks your price in for the season and means that any inflationary prices are avoided in the coming months. I have known these farmers for more than 19 years. This farm is one of the oldest organic farms offering shares in the country. Check them out. Actually check out any CSA. We are so lucky to have a variety of farms in this area and farmer's markets.
Local Color Florists - Ellen has been around for more than 17 years as a florist. She specializes in only using local flowers - even in February. Check out her FB page. She just made a reel explaining how to source in February.
Coffee - Stay local - my preferred local brewer is Zeke's. This is one category that will have to be watched in terms of price. Again buying now when the price is lower can't hurt.
