Originally built as an OV-1B and later upgraded to OV-1D configuration, aircraft 62-5902 served with the U.S. Army's 2nd Military Intelligence Battalion in Europe during the Cold War. Equipped with radar and infrared sensors, the Mohawk helped gather critical intelligence long before the age of drones.

Years after retirement, MotoArt founder Dave Hall discovered the aircraft in the swamps of South Florida, identified it by its serial number, and brought it to California to be preserved.
