Honoring Innovation in Transportation & Industry: Elijah McCoy (1844-1929) was a prolific engineer whose inventions improved the lubrication of steam engines—making railroads and factories safer, faster, and more efficient. His work became so trusted that buyers asked for “the real McCoy. Today’s advanced manufacturing and engineering pathways build on the innovation of pioneers like McCoy. Last evening, RBEF presented a $1,150,000 check to the District for the 2025-2026 school year. The grant will fund much needed programs at the elementary, middle, and high school level.
