Some of my favorite captures from the holiday weekend. It started with a symphony at the Statehouse and ended with Topeka High’s annual patriotic chimes concert. Did you have a favorite for this weekend?
Last night was a beautiful kick off to our country’s 250 birthday weekend. Locals and travelers came together to listen to the Topeka Symphony perform at the Kansas Statehouse. It was exactly the kind of event all communities should be having across our nation. It brought people together. Thank you to the Kansas 250 Commission, Visit Topeka, Topeka Fire Department, Kansas Highway Patrol, Topeka Police Department and WIBW.

Looking through images from June, this one might be my favorite. This is the "smaller" (still 8ft) replica of Ad Astra - the statue atop the statehouse dome. The original is 22ft tall.
