According to the Kansas Department Of Ag,
Heat Treatments are the best way to eliminate Bed Bugs.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture (KDA) does not treat bed bugs itself. Still, it regulates the lodging industry and requires that any bed bug infestation in a licensed facility be eliminated by a licensed pest control operator. For general consumers, the KDA advocates for Integrated Pest Management (IPM), a strategy combining mechanical controls and careful chemical use.

The KDA and the U.S. EPA advise the following treatment and management practices:

1. Mechanical and Physical Controls Instead of immediately reaching for chemical sprays, the KDA recommends physical methods to manage an infestation:

Heat Treatment: The most effective method is heat. Wash infested linens and clothes in hot water and dry them on the highest dryer setting for at least 30 minutes.

Mattress Encasements: Cover your mattress and box springs with high-quality, zippered bed bug encasements. This traps existing bed bugs and prevents them from escaping or creating new hiding spots.

Vacuuming: Thoroughly vacuum hiding spots (like mattress seams, baseboards, and furniture crevices). Change the bag immediately after use, seal the bag in a plastic trash bag, and dispose of it outdoors.

Declutter: Reduce the amount of clutter in your home to eliminate places for bed bugs to hide.

Here are some pictures and a video of a termite treatment we did today. We inspected the property last week and because another company had been out there and did not find the termite in the window sill, and we did, so we got the job.

While doing the job I was treating with some ta**us insecticide For the termite swarmers and dusting the galleries and they started swarming, pretty cool. Needless to say, when you need termite work done, call the best around.

Carpenter Ant Identification...

Carpenter ants are large ants (typically 3.5 to 13 mm) that damage wooden structures by excavating tunnels, or "galleries," for nesting, rather than eating the wood. Often identified by the piles of sawdust-like shavings (frass) they leave behind, these ants often target moist, rotting, or hollow wood in homes.

Key Facts About Carpenter Ants:

Behavior: They do not eat wood but chew through it to create nesting sites.

Appearance: They are usually black, but can also be red, brown, or a combination. They have a single node on their waist and a smoothly rounded thorax.

Damage Indicators: Common signs include finding large ants, piles of frass (sawdust/dead insect parts), and hearing rustling sounds in walls.

Habitat: They often establish a main "parent" colony in decaying wood outside and establish "satellite" colonies in homes, especially in areas with moisture issues like windowsills, roof eaves, and decks.

Distinction from Termites: Unlike termites, which consume wood, carpenter ants only tunnel through it.
