As we celebrate our nation's independence, we wish our students, families, alumni, faculty, and staff a safe and joyful holiday filled with family, friends, and summer fun.

We are incredibly proud of Falon B. and Mina W. for representing Topeka Collegiate at the NHD National Contest at the University of Maryland.

After nearly a year of research, writing, revising, and refining their projects, Falon competed with her individual performance, Lighting the Path of Reform:The Matchgirls’ Strike of 1888, while Mina presented her individual paper, The Butterfly Effect: How the Mirabal Sisters Transformed Resistance into Revolution, on the national stage.

Although neither placed this year, reaching the national competition is an extraordinary accomplishment and a testament to their hard work, dedication, and passion for history.

In addition to competing, the students enjoyed exploring our nation's capital alongside Mrs. Smith, creating memories and gaining experiences that will last a lifetime.

Congratulations, Falon and Mina! We are so proud of all you have achieved, and the way you represented our school community throughout this incredible journey.
