How are you celebrating 250 years of freedoms in our nation by the grace of God? Fireworks? A picnic? A parade? Gathering tomorrow with fellow believers to thank God for the blessings he has given us in this nation? When you think about the many freedoms and blessings we have in our nation we have have good reason to celebrate.
As Christians we have even greater reasons to celebrate and to give thanks to our Lord. Jesus, God’s own Son, was miraculously conceived and born as a citizen in this world. Even though Jesus is the King of kings, he made himself subject to the governing authorities who unjustly condemned him to death on the cross. Jesus then conquered death by rising from the dead. By his sacrificial death Jesus has set us free from Satan’s domain. Jesus has blessed us with citizenship in his kingdom by sending the Holy Spirit to create faith in our hearts. Through that gift of faith we have the peace of God which transcends all understanding. Jesus has set us free from all our sins, from Satan, and from the punishment we deserved. Jesus has blessed us with freedom to approach his throne with full confidence that he will hear and answer our prayers.
We invite you to celebrate the blessings God has given us as citizens in our nation in which the Lord has richly blessed us. We especially invite you to celebrate the citizenship that Jesus has blessed us with in his kingdom through faith in Jesus as our Savior.
