I normally don’t share videos or reels but this beautiful lady is spot on with this wonderful video about parenting and secure attachment.
This is something I get to talk about daily with so many of my clients.
Secure safe attachment is NOT about being “perfect” and isn’t NOT about never losing your s**t. It’s about reconnecting after conflict and showing our children that they are worthy of repair.

A secure attachment DOES NOT require perfection. It requires a pattern of connection. A secure attachment dynamic is flexible and can handle moments of disconnection, misunderstanding, misattunement, and conflict. A secure attachment dynamic is lead by an imperfect and dedicated parent. I like to think of it as a dance. There are moments of great synchronicity and connection and moments when we move in the opposite direction, but the beauty of the dance that we continue to return to each other time and again. Next time you mess up, there is your voice and the way you wish you hadn’t you say something you regret, just remember to return to connection instead of beating herself up, remind yourself that being a human parent, always involves human mistakes.
