Air quality across our region is at unhealthy levels today. While everyone can be affected, children, older adults, pregnant women and people with asthma, COPD, heart disease or other chronic health conditions are at greater risk. Exposure to elevated levels of smoke and fine airborne particles can cause coughing, throat and eye irritation, shortness of breath and chest discomfort. It can also worsen existing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.

⚠️To protect yourself:
Stay indoors when possible
Keep windows and doors closed
Run air conditioning if available
Avoid outdoor exercise and strenuous activities
Monitor for symptoms such as coughing, throat irritation, shortness of breath or chest discomfort

If symptoms become severe, seek medical attention.

If your swelling is recurring, affects only one leg, is painful, or is accompanied by skin changes, it's time to talk with your healthcare provider. Understanding the cause is the first step toward finding relief.
