One of my favorite details from this custom home is this under-stair reading nook.
When we were working through the cabinetry plans for this new build, we had the opportunity to help create a number of custom spaces throughout the home. This nook is a great example of how thoughtful design can turn an area that might otherwise be overlooked into something both beautiful and practical.

The built-in bench creates a cozy spot to relax with a book, while the custom storage drawers underneath provide plenty of room for books, blankets, games, and other everyday essentials. Everything has a place, but it's all neatly tucked away.

With summer here, I can easily picture this becoming a favorite spot for afternoon reading or a quiet break from the heat.

One of the things I enjoy most about custom cabinetry is finding ways to make a home work better for the family who lives there. Sometimes that means a large kitchen. Sometimes it's a small space like this that ends up becoming a favorite corner of the house.
