I have been explaining these exact points to my Ads clients since the start of the "automation" push over 5 years ago. Then we find out Google Ads increases the bid amounts by 5-10% without telling us? Just to hit their revenue projections for the stock market? No wonder the CPC goes up randomly with zero changes in competition, budget, reach, audiences, etc... I do not run partner ads on any account anymore and I watch Dynamic Ads like a HAWK! Make sure to question your Google Ads manager about your settings and I really hope they manage your campaigns manually! Google adds - by default - new "features" all the time and they bury them in your settings. It's become the first thing I check across all accounts. I have run these ads for 12 years and we used to manually change the bid amounts for each keyword individually! That was the first thing Google took away. Then we find out they change the bid amounts across the board to hit revenue projections. As hard as my job might get if they do break up Google, I kinda hope the DOJ does it!
