Rusty Chicken at The Rialto

I saw this art work on the wall at Watson's this week. I took a picture because it reminded me of a story I want to share with you guys! When we started giving away items from the Rialto an elderly couple came to get a few seats.
I didn't get their names so we will call them Noah and Allie.
This couple showed up early on a Saturday morning asking for some seats from the Rialto. The couple were both using canes to walk, they shuffled their feet slowly making their way into the Rialto. They said there first date was at the Rialto and here is their story:
In 1956, Noah asked his father's permission to use the family car. He wanted to drive to Allie's house to ask her father's permission to go on a date. That is how things were done during that era of time. Noah's father told him if he washed the car and waxed it he could use the car.
Once Noah got the car ready he got the courage to drive over and ask Allie's father permission about going on a date. Allie's father gave permission with strict orders to have her home by 10pm.
Noah worked all week mowing grass, doing odd jobs for neighbors, his uncle and grandpa to make $2 for his date.
Date Night:
Noah arrives to Allie's house and must come in and sit on the couch for the awkward dad talk. Allie said my dad told Noah she is precious to me and you kindly show her respect and I expect you to protect her. Noah made a promise and he kept his word.
Noah and Allie went to the early movie at the Rialto and he purchased 2 tickets 2 popcorns and 2 drinks. After the movie, they went to Watson's Drive Inn and both had a burger, fries at this point I was deeply invested and I interrupted and said shared a shake 🥰 Allie looked at me and said absolutely NOT! You did not share a shake unless you were going steady. 😊
She said at that point it was our first date so none of that was allowed. 😅
Noah said after that we went to Ashburns ice cream shop for an ice cream cone. He said can you believe we did all of that for less than $2?!
Noah said I drove her home, walked her to her door kissed her cheek and Allies dad turned the light on. Noah said that was the sign as to your night is over son! Noah said to Allie let's do that again sometime soon! They have been together ever since! ♥️
I enjoyed this story and the couple still seemed very much in love!
I loved how Allie was reminiscing and telling the sweetest story and how Noah comes in and tells you about the price of things! 🤣 It was a special moment we all shared for a few minutes at the Rialto and I can't wait to make memories and show off the work we have been doing!
