On Saturday, we will celebrate America's semiquincentennial, or the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. We give thanks for the many blessings we have received from our country, which we celebrate with cookouts and parades. Yet we remember that true freedom comes not from any nation or government, but from the Lord. Let us lift in prayer our government leaders and call on them to remember God's word: "Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another" (Zechariah 7:9)

"It starts with breakfast, then we can have a conversation.” June's mission focus is Manna House, another long-time mission partner here at Mays Chapel UMC. Manna House serves nutritious breakfasts to their clients, the homeless and poor in Baltimore City, and uses that time to connect individuals with services such as health care, clothing, and job training. The dining room and kitchen were recently renovated to accommodate more clients, whom they serve Monday through Friday mornings every week. How can you help? Volunteers are always needed to pack hygiene kits, sort clothes, and organize storage of donated items. And monetary donations are always welcomed (please mark your donation "Manna House.") Manna House – We offer assistance and support to the homeless, poor and needy of Baltimore. It starts with breakfast. Manna House provides the homeless and poor of Baltimore City with the assistance and support to move towards independence and stability. We help transform people’s lives by feeding them first.

This Sunday is Father's Day, set aside to celebrate the fathers and father-figures who have provided love and guidance to help us grow and mature in our lives and spiritual journeys. Let us also acknowledge and lift up those for whom this day can be one of sadness and struggle. May we always find opportunities to provide guidance and love to everyone in our lives. We have had a member get two scam emails from supposedly another member . If you get an email from another member please delete it if it looks odd. No member would have sent a request for gift cards,etc.
