It was a significant honor to see my fine art print, Gorch Fock, Peaceful Ambassador, — pictured in the background — serving as the official welcome gift from the City of San Francisco to the government delegation from my home town of Kiel, Northern Germany.

The Gorch Fock is Germany’s famous tall ship and naval training vessel. Built in 1958 and home-ported in Kiel, it trains naval cadets in seamanship while acting as a goodwill ambassador worldwide. It is a true honor to have my art serve as a cultural ambassador between the sister cities of Kiel, Northern Germany and San Francisco, California.

The presentation took place during the signing ceremony at San Francisco City Hall to celebrate the official and permanent extension of the Sister-City partnership. It was a historic moment as San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie, Kiel City President Bettina Aust, and the Lord Mayor of Kiel, Dr. Ulf Kämpfer, solidified this long-standing bond.

Seeing Mayor Lurie pictured with my work underscores the strength of this international relationship. This piece stands as a symbol of the friendship and cooperation that links Northern Germany with the Bay Area.

MY LETTERS TO SAN FRANCISCO
How a young Asian man who cooked on the edge of San Francisco's Chinatown and North Beach gave me HOPE.

San Francisco revealed its soul to me

I couldn’t demand grace
I couldn’t demand magic
I could only remain open to receive

Coming soon… I can’t wait to share my new story with you.
