What is mission-critical? When the stakes are high, and failure is not an option, you want to remain connected to your power source despite being in remote and extreme environments. Ascent Solar is busy keeping our troops connected to their power source with our flexible, reliable, and lightweight thin-film photovoltaic (PV) technology.

In collaboration with Cornerstone Research Group (CRG), Ascent Solar Technologies participated in a technical experiment for our special ops troops. The conjunction demonstrated the interoperability of our technologies and how Ascent’s superior solar technology keeps our defense teams connected.

Ascent is pleased to announce we have been selected for participation in US Special Operation Command's (USSOCOM) Technical Experimentation (TE) 21-3, coming up on July 27-29, 2021, at the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center (MUTC) in Muscatatuck, IN. SOCOM customarily conducts TE's to provide an opportunity for technology developers to interact with Special Operations personnel to allow them to understand how they can support or enhance Special Operations Forces (SOF) capability needs. The focus of TE 21-3 is to highlight Sense-Through-The-Wall (STTW) technologies. These technologies are used determine whether a structure is occupied and enable situational awareness of known and unknown personnel. Ascent's lightweight, rugged CIGS PV technology can help provide expeditionary/mobile power for these STTW systems -- which can be vehicle-mounted, Unmanned Ground Vehicle-mounted, Unmanned Aerial System-mounted, tripod-mounted, or handheld -- providing our warfighters with a critical advantage on the battlefield.
