Today you should have been 4 . Four candles, four wishes, four years of watching you grow. Instead, I light this day with my love and my tears, and I speak your name into the quiet.
You were only here for 18 days, but you changed my soul forever. In those tiny days, you taught me a love deeper than anything I had ever known. I miss the life we never got to have, but I treasure the love we will always have.
I wonder who you would have been today. What your laugh would sound like. What your favorite color might be. If you would run into my arms or hide behind my legs.
Being your mama changed me forever. Losing you broke me in ways words can’t explain, but loving you saved parts of me too. I hope you feel my kisses in the wind, my hugs in the warmth of the sun, and my love in every beat of my heart.
