Some of you have wondered about the glass that we use in our ArKIV Museum Quality Display Cases. If you're curious, then this post is for you! To start with, yes our glass is real glass! It starts with 1/4-inch thick tempered glass paneling. Our anti-reflective performance is achieved by manipulating light waves. This causes the light to bounce in different directions rather than directly back at you. Our glass is also UV-resistant. It's low-iron substrate is coated with metal oxide layers that are as thin as 1/500th of the diameter of a human hair. All of this together results in glass that is free of unwanted tinting and shading. When you setup your art and turn on the lights, it virtually disappears! We are now shipping internationally! And we want to thank all of our international followers who have waited patiently while we figure out supply chains to their region. Our updated shipping rates are available to view on Kickstarter. We want to make sure that what we estimate for shipping is not less than what shipping ends up being later. So all of our rates reflect shipping in small quantities. The actual rate goes down substantially if we receive enough orders to ship a fill container.
