After undergoing radiation treatment from another facility that left her with a severe leg burn, Rosalie Griffin was referred to our clinic for further evaluation. Because the wound would not heal on its own and had extensive tissue damage, she faced possible amputation below her knee. Fortunately, our wound care center utilizes specialized clinicians and advanced treatment options to address non-healing wounds. Together with her medical team, Rosalie decided to salvage her limb. She began an aggressive course of care that included frequent debridements and 38 hyperbaric oxygen treatments to remove devitalized tissue and enhance blood flow to the affected area. Over time, her wound improved significantly, allowing her to undergo successful reconstructive flap surgery with no complications. Today, Rosalie’s wound is 100% healed, and she is back to doing the things she loves, like gardening. She is grateful for her husband’s continued support and for Drs. William Tompkins and Bejoy Thomas for helping her avoid what could have been a life-altering outcome.

We were proud to take part in the Mothers Blessings Community Wide Baby Shower, an event focused on connecting new and expectant mothers, caregivers, babies and young children with helpful resources and support.
We did have Certified Lactation Consultants to provide breastfeeding classes and education and our nurses provided education regarding Safe Sleep for infants and provided classes with demonstrations throughout the day.
As part of our commitment to supporting safe and healthy beginnings, every baby delivered with us receives a Halo Sleep Swaddle. Opportunities like this allow us to extend our mission beyond the hospital and walk alongside families as they prepare for some of life’s most meaningful moments.

Hernias affect over a million Americans each year, but early treatment can help prevent serious complications. This National Hernia Awareness Month, we're highlighting the robotic-assisted technology available at our ministry that helps treat complex or recurrent hernias. According to General Surgeon Specialist Dr. Christopher Timmons, this technology allows surgeons to operate with greater precision through smaller incisions, resulting in less pain, fewer complications and a faster recovery for our patients.

Nurse-midwives play an important role in delivering personalized, patient-centered care throughout the childbirth experience. The addition of midwives to our OB Hospitalist Program enhances the care we provide to women in Texarkana and the surrounding communities, bringing a more holistic approach to childbirth while continuing to support safe, high-quality obstetrical care. This collaborative model has contributed to improved outcomes, including a reduction in the primary cesarean section rate among first-time mothers. Nurse-midwives like Pamela Wyatt, Brittany Nieves, Hollie Sharrock, under the supervision of Maternal Medical Director Dr. Ann Marie Ledley help ensure women have both the support and options they need throughout every stage of care.
