Say Hello to the Émile Desk Lamp!

This started as an excuse to try my hand at bent wood laminations, but it quickly became a great way to further my experience with welding, fabbing the base, and wiring in tighter spots then what im used to. The base is 1/4" A36, the neck and support are walnut and pine laminations, the cable routing is coat hanger and the electrical components were sourced from ! Check the comments for the build video.

This piece is the perfect blend of mid-century modern and rustic; with its waterfall butcherblock top and palletwood chevron accent it's one that you can't help but stare at. The desk tops were hand finished, buffed and polished for a super durable and lustrous finish (that's as strong as Wayne's Jujitsu students) and the cabinets were painted in a "cracked pepper" enamel paint. Big thank you to Larry D and Mr. Danner for their help with the cabinetry and painting respectively.
