Are You OVERWEIGHT?
Have you ever felt frustrated that everything you do to lose weight fails? “You know …. You eat clean, exercise, drink your water, eat low carbs, avoid drinking alcohol,”…. Are you estrogen dominant? Have you measured your total estrogen, estradiol, estrone sulfate, progesterone, testosterone, prolactin, T4 T3, TPO anti-thyroglobulin antibodies? Is this hormone imbalance? Could this be stress ? High Cortisol?
First step in weight loss is analyze your hormones. You can use the website Ultalabtest.com which takes you to Quest labs. Extra labs for immune imbalance is Precision Point which can look at the four ways your body can negatively react to food. (Immediate food allergies, immune tolerance, Food sensitivities, autoimmune food reactions) What about gut health? Consider Genesis stool study or Doctors Data stool study. Have you ruled out candidiasis?
So let’s say all of this is normal?
Suggestions:
1. Akermansia probiotic: consider adding this to facilitate weight loss. Make sure to open the probiotic and place into food.
2. Introduce prebiotics too: Xymogen has a great probiomax Df Sb 350 billlion cfu and sprinkle a little bit of this into food daily.
3. If estrogen is dominant: use Estrobalance by Epigeneticsrx.com and Estrofactors by Metagenics.
4. If your menopausal use bioidentical hormones like Vivelle dot and Prometrium or Biest Progesterone Testosterone 1.25 mg (50:50), 25mg, .1% .1ml per va**na qhs.
5. If stressed use Cortisol Manager by Integrative Therapeutics bid
6. If you have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis or autoimmune diseases add LDN 4.5mg qhs
7. Boost metabolism by setting you cell phone alarm to eat plants every 3 hours.
8. If histamine sensitive use Quercitin 500mg bid and follow low Amine diet plus low sulfite diet.
9. Consider using B12 shots weekly with MIC
10. Lastly consider adding GLP-1 meds like Mounjouro or Rybelsus
11. Oh I almost forgot the power of Butyric Acid three times a day. This is a powerful short change fatty acid that has great weight loss.

If Fibromyalgia Related to Sulfites?
In clinic we are seeing a growing patient population with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. Fibromyalgia is characterized by a number of point areas of muscle tenderness throughout the body. Through genomic results, it has become apparent that many of these patients have an up-driven trans-sulfuration pathway in the body. That means that in many patients when the body lacks the ability to use folate in its fullest, the body will rely more heavily on a secondary pathway called the trans-sulfuration pathway. This pathway, while processing sulfur-containing amino acids, can lead to an excessive production of sulfites. Sulfites naturally lead to an excessive production of acidic cofactors, increasing an acidic burden on the body and depleting the body of essential minerals such as molybdenum, manganese, magnesium, and many other critical minerals. Many of our fibromyalgia patients find great relief of their muscle pain and body aches when we place them on a multivitamin/mineral such as Mitofuel, which contains methylated B vitamins and higher dosages of critical minerals and anti-oxidants. We also often use strong alkalinizing approaches such as can be achieved by drinking alkaline mineral waters, such as Aquahydrate or alkalinizing medical foods such as UltraClear Renew by Metagenics in combination with Sulfite XX which is simply an extra dosage of molybdenum and manganese- chelated minerals at two meals of the day. This approach appears to help clear sulfites more quickly while helping to better produce healthier sulfates used by the liver for Phase II detoxification. Could it be that fibromyalgia is a syndrome of excess sulfites, an acidic burden, and impaired detoxification? To date, there is no known single gene related to the development of fibromyalgia, but we do see common hereditary links in our patient population.

A lot of doctors and clinicians believe that this is old news. Yah, Yah they say.... all you have to do is just give people with the MTHFR mutation methylfolate right. I mean how hard can this be? Well, I can tell you as an experienced clinician..... blindly prescribing methylfolate can make a lot of people sick. I literally saw people take massive dosages of methylfolate and methylB12 develop a whole hose of other problems. The methylfolate cycle is connected to a number of other cycles in the body such as the urea cycle, the biopterin cycle, and the tran-sulfuration cycle. I watched people over ingest methyl groups which caused joint pain, tendinitis, bursitis, Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, heart burn, allergies, itchy skin....all of these side effects were a result of the over production of sulfites in the body via the up-regulation of the transulfuration pathway. In essence, when certain individuals over consume too much methylfolate they can increase the production of sulfur containing metabolites and amino acids in the body. Sulfur is important in protein structural support and has a tendency to make proteins spin or turn. This includes keratin protein which in found in hair and nails. Therefore, I have seen patients over-methylate and therefore develop longitudinal lines in their nails and create waves or curls in the hair, or increase sulfur containing hormones in their blood such as estrone sulfate or DHEAsulfate. Whereas curly hair has never made people sick, but the same can occur to tendons and fascia creating plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, or bursitis. Many people who complain of fibromyalgia type of pain or joint pain are actually experiencing an excess of sulfites in the body and would benefit from taking Sulfite XX twice a day. This mineral cocktail helps people clear sulfites and produce healthy sulfates. Sulfites are pro-inflammatory and toxic as compared to sulfates which are critical to joint and tendon strength and critical for phase II liver detoxification. Sulfates support a healthy Gut barrier and Blood brain barrier, as well as bronchial and vascular dilation. This is why we treat bronchial constriction such as seen in asthma with albuteral sulfate and this is why we can treat joint and muscle pain with magnesium sulfate found in Epsom Salt baths.
