EarthChild Explorers
Presentations and book reports focused on nature and environmental science was a huge success. Our students taught us about microplastics, deforestation, albedo, overfishing and many other topics on environmental issues and caring for nature.
At EarthChild we focus on environmental studies while being fully immersed in childhood and the great outdoors!
Rainy days at EarthChild make some of the greatest memories and phenomenal learning opportunities. We experimented with pinecones to see what would happen if one was left in the rain and another one was kept dry. We learned that a pinecone closes up when wet and some students compared it to themselves when cold they like to bundle up. We also compared catching rain water from out in the open area and another catching rain water from the dripping off the shelter. They came to the conclusion that the wind was blowing so hard that a lot of the water didn't make it in the bowl. 🌧️
Catching rain, playing freeze tag, creating acorn art, reading stories, making up songs, and singing were all part of our rainy day.
At EarthChild we are grateful to be fully immersed in nature as we experience the world around us, rain or shine! 🌦️
The past week we embraced the Harvest Moon and began learning facts and the phases of the moon. Students will be observing the night sky and journaling the moon every night so that they can document and experience each phase of the moon. 🌕 🌖🌗🌘🌑🌒🌓🌔
After our unit study students collected acorns, climbed rocks, and caught the smallest and biggest fish to date at EarthChild.
At EarthChild we spend our days engaged in science/nature studies balanced with free exploration time in the outdoors!
