Overcomers Outreach is a 12-step, Christ-based recovery program. This month, we reflect on Step 1 which states: “𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗵𝗼𝗹 — 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲.” Whether you struggle with drugs, alcohol, food, p**n, gambling, gaming, or other compulsive behaviors, we are here for you! Join us as we create new behaviors with the support of community and Christ.

We meet Tuesdays 7-8pm at Tehachapi Vineyard Church (502 E Pinon). All are welcome, we can't wait to see you there!

As members of the OMS, one way we engage our vow to be true to Christ is to continue learning and growing, and to help others do the same.

God, I open my heart again today to all you want to teach me. Allow me opportunities for deeper learning and growth, and may I pass these things along to others. Thank you for friendships that go there spiritually.

In August, we are studying Step 8: “𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗮𝗹𝗹.” We encourage you to find an accountability partner or a sponsor to help you walk this step. We will discuss this and other recovery topics during our Tuesday night meetings. You don't need to suffer alone!

Confession to God is often easier than admitting a slip to another human being, but this is a necessary step in the journey to maintain our sobriety. It's important to find someone mature and empathetic to share with - someone who will listen without judgement.
