Your smile lights me up.

It has been the most incredible experience watching you grow from this little guy that couldn’t hold his head up to a full-blown little human that speaks in complete sentences, tells jokes, has opinions, and has a shockingly good memory. I’m so fortunate that I get to watch you learn more about the world around you each day and that I get to answer your questions and teach you.

It breaks my heart that I’m not home today to give you the biggest hug and kiss, but Dada is still just a kid chasing his dreams and figuring out the world each day, and one day you’ll be doing the same.

I look forward to each new discovery you make and each new skill you learn. I look forward to watching you continue to constantly observe and attempt to process the things around you in your own way. I look forward to more bike rides and train slides. And of course, I look forward to more laying next to you and hearing you talk about anything and everything, singing 18 wheels on a big rig together, and dancing in the living room.

I can’t believe you are already 3 years old. I love you so much. Happy Birthday Benji.
